Bill 318-37: The Trojan Horse

Bill 318-37 now being considered by the Guam Legislature would appropriate $400,000.00 to train an unspecified number of persons to become “doulas”, or persons who assist pregnant women throughout their pregnancy. While this sounds very good, the organizations that would receive these funds, like the Birthworkers of Color Collective (mentioned five times in the text of the bill), train “full-spectrum” doulas that also provide material assistance in aiding women to have abortions. We have a well-founded belief that this is indeed the true intent of the bill, as the bill’s proponents have mentioned in this article: https://nbcuacademy.com/guam-doulas/.
